A cobalt coating was applied to the surface in the battery to improve the performance against degradation and lower the self discharge rate, maintaining a high charge even after long term storage. Using a special formula of AB5 type alloy powder formulated additive, it makes the hydrogen storage alloy’s lattice more durable, extending the recharge cycle life up to 1000 cycles with no memory effect in the cell.
